Smart Waste Solutions arrive at Blanchardstown Centre
We’re thrilled to announce our partnership with Blanchardstown Centre and ABM Ireland to bring cutting-edge waste management solutions to the Centre. Together, we have installed 16 Bigbelly Smart Max stations across the facility, marking an exciting step toward smarter, more sustainable waste practices while also supporting the centres commitment to ‘Be Better.’
The Bigbelly Smart Max stations are solar-powered smart bins that go beyond traditional waste collection. Each unit compacts waste on-site, allowing it to hold more without taking up additional space. But what truly sets these bins apart is their connectivity. ABM staff are notified automatically when the bins are full, ensuring timely collections and preventing overflows.
This technology brings a host of benefits to Blanchardstown Centre and its visitors:
- Optimized waste collection: By alerting staff only when bins are full, collection trips are reduced, saving time and resources.
- Improved cleanliness: The enclosed design of the bin prevents overflowing and wind-blown litter, so the Centre remains safe, clean and inviting for visitors at all times.
- Sustainability support: Fewer collections and smarter waste management directly contribute to the Centre’s sustainability goals to ensure 0 waste to landfill, helping reduce the overall environmental footprint.
Driving Sustainability and Recycling Efforts
With a recycling diversion rate of 40% over a short 2-month period, this initiative is a reflection of the growing importance of sustainable infrastructure in public spaces. Smart solutions like Bigbelly Smart Max stations demonstrate how innovation can make everyday operations more efficient while supporting environmental responsibility and recycling strategies.
The Power of Partnership
At Future Street, we believe the future of public spaces lies in intelligent design, sustainability, and technology-driven solutions that enhance both user experience and operational efficiency. This installation at Blanchardstown Centre is a shining example of how partnerships between businesses and technology can create measurable positive impact for communities, visitors, and the planet.
