There is a major new player on the UK motorsports scene, and Future Street is incredibly proud to be supporting it right from the starting grid.
Motorsport fans recently received their first look at Kart Silverstone, a brand new, international-standard karting circuit set to officially open this December. Funded by significant investment from the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC), this fast, physically challenging track is expected to welcome approximately 160,000 visitors to the circuit every single year.
With that level of footfall expected, providing a world-class environment means investing in world-class infrastructure.
From Trial to Pole Position
Our partnership with Silverstone began with a successful trial in collaboration with Grundon Waste Management at Silverstone’s Lap of Lights event last year. That successful deployment proved the concept, and we have recently installed more of our Bigbelly sustainable litter solutions to help support the full Kart Silverstone experience.
Kart Silverstone is located right outside the Silverstone Museum, situated on the historic site of the circuit’s former Bridge corner. In such a high-traffic, prestigious location, waste management isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s a critical component of safety and operations.
Eliminating Litter and Improving Track Safety
The new facility features five separate karting tracks, and maintaining their integrity is vital. Our Bigbelly Smart Max units were the ideal solution for this fast-paced environment. These units are fully enclosed, meaning they securely lock away waste inside the bin.
Crucially, this design completely eliminates the risk of wind-blown litter scattering across the karts’ racing surfaces, improving operational safety for the drivers and protecting the local environment near the museum. For visitors looking to experience this physically challenging track, it guarantees the surroundings will visually match the world-class facility being delivered by the BRDC.
And as a fun extra touch that fits the high-energy venue, the bins are programmed to say “thank you” every time someone disposes of their litter.
